Dik's Story
In Memory of Dik
Lisa's brother Dik passed away from esophageal cancer on June 13, 2012 — just eight months after his diagnosis. He had been tired for months, experiencing some acid reflux, but never felt alarmed enough to see a doctor. By the time the tumor was found, it was the size of a golf ball. His cancer was already at stage four.
Early Detection Saves Lives
Dik's story is all too common. Cancer caught early is cancer that can be fought. What he went through didn't have to happen — and that realization became the fuel for everything that followed. If one person gets a check-up because of what happened to Dik, his legacy lives on.
Let's Go Give Launches
Let's Go Give launched in May 2021 with Lisa's lifetime commitment to donate $33 million to cancer research charities. Every event, every donation, and every conversation is part of honoring Dik and helping more families avoid the pain of late detection.
